Being in London. It's a treat.
What is not a treat is typing on a foreign computer. I just can't work the exclamation marks, of which I am usually inordinately fond of and it takes me ages to write.
Anyway, I am back in London and oh, did I tell you, I LOVE LONDON.......
We arrived yesterday morning, it is so easy with the Eurostar, a bit more than 2 hours. We had lunch in Soho, which has changed so much over the years, every time I come back, it has got hipper ....if that's a word and more interesting.
When I first arrived in London, it was still a place of ill-repute with ladies of no virtue and Italian restaurants. Now it's so fashionable and trendy but still nice and cozy.
We had an organic lunch at "Pure", where they have the best broccoli, Stilton and pea soup and interesting thoughts on the walls.....
In the evening, in honour of the upcoming celebrations of the Chinese New Year, we dined in my favourite restaurant in Gerrard street, "Plum Valley". Try it if you're over here, it's all black inside and the food is nice and not expensive. Last night, there were a lot of very trendy young Chinese people having dinner too, which made it even more enjoyable.
Today was a shopping day, at one of my favourite store, which we don't have in France, "Urban Outfitters".
The clothes are great, the music is fantastic, the sales people are good-looking and I just love the decor. What more can you ask for ?
We then headed for South Molton Street
to finally reach Bond Street where lies another shop that we don't have in Paris, thankfully, because it makes you so depressed about your own shape that you just don't want to eat for the rest of your life :
Everything is sexy and beautiful there, even the restrooms....
Heaven ... or Hell on Earth, depends on which way you look at it ! (hey, found those marks !!!!!!)
Have a beautiful week-end !
(and be prepared to be bored with more London pics ..... You've been warned !)
Lots of love, S.B.

RépondreSupprimerHow beautiful! I love London, too, with its wide roads, big friendly spaces, the Thames, Big Ben, the shops, pubs, restaurants!
RépondreSupprimerLondon is like a beautiful, glamorous (much more glam than NYC, I assure you!) woman, dressed in designer clothes.
I'm glad you had a wonderful time. I love all your pictures... they are so exciting! The Victoria's Secret store is much nicer than the one opposite MACY'S IN Manhattan... true!
